SABIC and Aramco studying plans to jointly establish an oil-to-chemicals complex
According to an article on Bloomberg, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) [2010.SE] is studying plans to jointly establish an oil to chemicals refinery with Saudi Aramco. The article adds that Aramco has already delayed plans to build a refinery with a petrochemicals complex at a capacity of 400,000 barrels per day as it awaits the results of its studies with SABIC. According to another article on Argaam website, the project will be set in the city of Yanbu. Previously, SABIC had been reportedly studying an oil-to-chemicals project, which was estimated to have an investment cost if USD30 billion. (Bloomberg, Argaam)
