Mobile network operators to sell phone lines through distributors under new franchise system
Mobile network operators (MNOs) will allow distributors to sell new phone lines under a new franchising system, starting next month or by 3Q18 by the latest, according to Enterprise. The new system allows each MNO to have 100-200 licensed distributors in the first phase, with no restrictions on the number of lines distributors can sell. Customers will reportedly be required to scan their fingerprints upon buying a new phone line. However, there are no confirmations on whether the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has approved the plan.
