Merkel objects to automotive directive

Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, has voiced her objections to the automotive directive, which she says violates the terms of Egypt’s trade agreements with EU countries. Members of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) have assured her that the law will not be issued unless none of the clauses of the automotive directive are in direct conflict with standing EU agreements, according to Al Mal.
