Central bank may act if budget gap is not addressed

Kuwait’s central bank governor Mohammad al-Hashel said that it may have to change monetary policy if the government does not act urgently to cut a budget deficit caused by low oil price. He further said that if government does not increase its consolidation efforts it will negatively impact the credit rating of Kuwait. The governor did not elaborate on how the monetary policy might be changed. (Reuters)
