Unit prices at Dar Misr to increase; EGP1 billion earmarked for social housing from “Long Live Egypt” fund
Unit prices for middle-income housing project, Dar Misr, is set to increase over the coming phases, according to an anonymous source at the Ministry of Housing, in light of increased demand. Prices for phase two have reached EGP4,000/sqm for units located in New Cairo and EGP3,500/sqm in Sixth of October City. On a related note, EGP1 billion has been earmarked from the “Long Live Egypt” fund to develop 100,000 units under the social housing programme, as instructed by Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Egyptian President.
