Telecom regulator requires mobile operators to purchase certain 4G equipment that prevents frequency interference
The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has required mobile network operators (MNOs) the purchase of certain equipment that prevents frequency interference between networks, according to unnamed sources. Operators have not received the 4G spectrum as they await the arrival of the said equipment. The floatation of the EGP has increased the cost borne by operators to purchase mobile equipment, modernise and upgrade their networks at a time when NTRA has rejected price increases on telecommunication services, the source added.
