Studies on Iran-Oman undersea gas pipeline to be concluded in 6 months
Studies on an undersea pipeline to carry Iranian gas to Oman will be completed in the next six months and a delegation from the Islamic republic will visit the sultanate soon to discuss the gas price and other issues, according to Iranian media reports. The sultanate’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, H E Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, discussed the plan with Bijan Zangeneh, Iran's Minister of Petroleum, in Tehran on Sunday. The USD60bn deal was agreed during Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Muscat in 2013 and would involve the transfer of 20mn m3 per day of Iranian gas to Oman for a period of 25 years, IRNA said.
