Sovaldi prices reduced for the third time to EGP520
The Health Minister, Ahmed Emad Eldin Rady, announced that Sovaldi prices have been reduced to EGP520 per pack for patients who are being treated at the expense of the govt, Al Ahram reported. Rady further added that this is the third price reduction of Sovaldi, which was first reduced to EGP680 per pack, then brought down to EGP600 in December 2015. On a related note, the ministry has approved allocating six centers nationwide to treat renal failure patients suffering from hepatitis C who are estimated to be 9180 patients. Also, it has agreed to fund treatment of 100,000 patients in the centers of the National Committee for the Control of Viral Hepatitis (NCCVH) with the cooperation of “Tahya Masr” Fund. (Al Ahram)
