SIPCHEM plans to conclude acquiring Ikarus Petroleum's 11% stake in IAC and IVAC by 1Q2016
According to an article on Argaam, Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) expects to conclude the acquisition of the 11% stake owned by Ikarus Petroleum Industries in the International Acetyl Company (IAC) and International Vinyl Acetate Company (IVAC) during 1Q2016. The company had earlier announced that the deal value stands at USD100.2 million (USD375.8 million) and would raise the company's stake in both companies from 76% to 87%. It is worthy of noting that IAC produces c460,000 tonnes per year (tpy) of acetic acid and IVAC produces 330,000tpy of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM).
