Sharjah 2016 budget implies 2% rise in spending

Sharjah increased planned 2016 spending by 2% to AED20.3 billion as part of a drive to create more jobs for citizens in government agencies. 6% of the budget has been allocated for assistance while 1% of the budget has been kept aside as reserve for emergency requirements. 26% of the allocation is for salaries and wages while 46% of the spending is aimed at boosting economic development and to ensure sustainable growth. The budget seeks to maintain the spending level on infrastructure projects. (Khaleej Times)
