Security forces disperse small protests against Sisi
Egyptian security forces fired tear gas and arrested scores of people to disperse small protests on Monday. Security forces moved on Monday to prevent a repeat scenario, blocking roads in Cairo leading to a central meeting point and dispersing a march in the Dokki neighborhood with tear gas, a witness said. On Monday, scores were arrested both in Cairo and outside of the capital, including six in the northern port city of Damietta and 12 in the Nile Delta industrial town of El-Mahalla El-Kubra, security sources said. Meanwhile, about 2000 Sisi supporters turned out for official celebrations at Abdeen Palace with families holding placards adorned with the president's face and the words "We trust you". (Reuters)
