Renewable Energy Authority to sign cost-sharing agreement with solar producers; EETC invites bids for 200 MW West Nile solar power station
The New and Renewable Energy Authority(NREA) will sign within a couple of days a cost-sharing agreement with seven companies that have qualified to join the feed-in tariff programme for renewable energy, according to a NREA source speaking to AL Borsa. The seven qualifying companies will establish solar powered plants in Zaafarana with total capacity of 305 MW. The cost –sharing agreement is one of five agreements that winning bidders will sign with regards to the renewable energy projects. The cost-sharing scheme includes the cost of connecting the solar power stations to the national grid , along with the infrastructure works in Aswan through the feed-in tariff. On another note, the Egyptian Energy Transmission Company (EETC) has invited 16 qualifying companies and consortiums to offer their financial bids for the West Nile 200 MW solar power station project, according to a company source speaking to Al Mal. The bidders have until May 2016 to submit their offers, the source added. ( Al Borsa, Al Mal)
