Kuwait oil workers ending strike after three-day disruption
Kuwait’s oil workers said that they will end a strike that is disrupting output in the OPEC’s fourth-largest oil producer. Workers will resume their jobs at 7 am local time on Wednesday out of respect for the country’s emir. The report came soon after Anas Al Saleh, the acting oil minister, said on Alrai television the government wouldn’t hold talks with workers as long as a strike continued. The workers went on strike to protest cuts in pay and benefits as Middle Eastern crude exporters reduce subsidies and government handouts. (Bloomberg)
