Supply minister sets consumer price of sugar at EGP10.5/kg; trade price at EGP9.25/kg
Supply Minister Ali El Moselhy issued a decision to cut the price of sugar for consumers to EGP10,500 per tonne, obliging manufacturers to print the price on the packages to tackle the issue of varying prices in the market. The decision also included setting the price of sugar for traders at EGP9,250 per tonne, requiring sugar manufacturers direct EGP1,250 per tonne sold towards funding sugar imports.
