Kayan reschedules maintenance operations to March from April, expects SAR96 million financial impact
Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company (Kayan) [2350.SE] has announced that it had brought forward its planned shutdown schedule date to 1 March 2016 as opposed to April 2016. According to the announcement, the ethylene glycole and ethylene oxide plant will be shut down for a period of 48 days for scheduled maintenance and technical repairs. This shutdown will also result in the shutdown of the polycarbonate, Ethanolamines (EOA), and Ethoxylates plants for a period of 53 days, given that these plants rely on Ethylene oxide in their production process. Kayan stated that it would also perform maintenance operations at the polycarbonate, Ethanolamines (EOA), and Ethoxylates plants during the same period. The company expects the financial impact of the shutdown will reach SAR96 million and will show on 1Q2016, as well as 2Q2016 results. (Tadawul)
