The government has reportedly decided yesterday to backtrack on hiking tourist visas to USD60, and will maintain the cost of single-entry visas at USD25, while multiple-entry visas will be repriced at USD60. The decision follows local and international objection by tourism operators that an increase in visa fees would further reduce tourist arrivals. Minister of Tourism, Yehia Rashid, had earlier announced that Cabinet is considering a plan to increase the tourism visa to USD60 starting July 2017.
