First of six wells of Baltim gas field begins production
Eni announced that production from the first well in the Baltim gas field has commenced, producing 75-100mcfpd of gas. A source from the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) said the Baltim gas field contains a total of six wells, which would bring total production of the field to 500mcfpd when the remaining five wells come online in 2Q20. Eni, which shares production on the field with BP and the EGPC, had estimated that the field, when discovered in 2016, to hold 1tcf of natural gas.
