Elsewedy Electric subsidiary(SWDY.CA), Iskraemeco, has won a bid to supply and install 50k smart meters, out of 250k meters offered in a bid by the government. On another note, Elsewedy announced that it is in negotiations with Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to establish two electricity transmission facilities with a 500k volt/ facility capacity in Gharbia and Beheira governorates. The disclosure came as clarification  to what was mentioned in a newspaper article regarding a Siemens-Elsewedy consortium for the 500k volt transmission plants.
