Egypt’s first agriculture commodities exchange launched
Egypt launched its first agriculture commodities exchange on Friday in Kafr Al Sheikh. The exchange purchases goods from farmers and sells them at market price (mostly to the government), according to the exchange’s chairman Abdl Moneim Gomaa. A second phase is in development for the exchange that includes the development of storage and sorting facilities. Plans for the exchange were announced last month as part of the Supply Ministry’s strategy. (Al Mal, Enterprise)
