Dubai LNG import capacity almost doubles with upgraded terminal
The Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP) has almost doubled its liquefied natural gas (LNG) import capacity after its floating import terminal was upgraded. US gas shipping company Excelerate Energy said it upgraded the Explorer floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) after DUSUP agreed a long-term charter for a larger and more efficient vessel in 2014. The vessel's base load capacity has increased to 800 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) from about 500 mmscfd. (Reuters)
