DP World welcomes UK court’s verdict on Djibouti Arbitration case
DP World said that it welcomed the ruling by the UK court that rejected allegations against Djibouti businessman Abdourahman Boreh. Djibouti in 2014 rescinded DP World’s concession at Doraleh Container Terminal after alleging it found evidence that DP World paid bribes, other financial incentives to Boreh, allegations which DP World denied. DP World said that it remains disappointed that the government commenced these proceedings and its arbitration against it, which is based essentially on the same charges the court has now rejected. The company said that they will now move forward in earnest to defend their position, but they hope that is not necessary as a result of this judgment. (Bloomberg)
