Cabinet approves price hike for multiple entry visas, maintains old price for single entry
Cabinet decided on Tuesday to raise the price of multiple entry tourist visas from USD35 to USD60, while maintaining the old rate of USD25 for single entry visas. Minister of Tourism, Yehia Rashed, said Cabinet had approved the decision, following a meeting headed by Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail; thereby, negating earlier reports by Al Borsa that the government had backtracked on hiking the fees for both types of visas. No date was specified on when the change would be implemented. In February, officials said Egypt would introduce new visa hikes for both single and multiple entry visas, from USD25 to USD60 and USD35 to USD70, respectively. Shortly after, Cabinet decided to postpone the implementation of the new prices from March until July. Egypt last increased its visa fee in April 2014, from USD15 to USD25.
