Arabtec is said to have hired AlixPartners to reform business
Arabtec Construction (Arabtec) is said to have hired AlixPartners to help reform the business, which is yet to be confirmed by the company. Arabtec had adopted a new strategy last year, entailing increased focus on the company’s core business, namely: civil construction in the UAE, and a cost-cutting programme, whereby the excess capacity brought-in by its ex-CEO to serve a more global, diverse strategy has been removed. Both endeavors have so far proven successful. Hiring an external advisor to give a helping hand through the restructuring process fits well with the big picture (in line with steps taken by other contractors, such as Galfar) and is viewed positively.
